The decision to play Chikamatsu Monzaemon's "Keisei Hangonko" came in 2010. Though I did not at all foresee it at that stage, in 2011 we would tour Romania, including an appearance at the Sibiu International Theater Festival, with this piece, and that tour would be an opportunity to rethink Japanese culture and the nation of Japan.On June 2 Yamanote Jijosha Company enjoyed the honor of performing at the Radu Stanca State Theater, the main venue of the Sibiu International Theater Festival in Romania.
