Osaka Association for Promotion of European Screen Image Culture (OAPESIC) was founded in July 1994. Its purpose is to popularize European Art films in Japan and to promote better understanding between European countries and Japan. OEPESIC constituted the Executive Committee for the 1st Osaka European Film Festival which took place in November 1994. Osaka European Film Festival has been held every year since then. The main section of the Festival, the Japanese Premieres of recent European films, will be completed this year with a series of events to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the official relation between Japan and Germany, the 30th Anniversary of the Twinning of Milan & Osaka, as well as the 150th Anniversary of the unification of Italy.
Moreover, children will enjoy the Kids Programme (including the OEFF Kindergarten) and people concerned will be able to attend one full day dedicated to environmental issues. Let's notice that a Special screening will also take place in the Tohoku area right after the OEFF.
