The theme of Original Tempo is to make everyday life enjoyable, by introducing Japanese contemporary art and culture through cross-genre performances such as theatre, music and dance.
They try to seek a new expression with a broad view, through the meeting and collaboration with local people in order to present their performance internationally.
This year, they collaborated with Slovenian art organization which continues to European Capital of Culture Maribor 2012. Additionally, they were invited to the theatre festival in Croatia, performed in Biwako lake hall "TACT festival 2011", participate to the Shizuoka Street performance World Cup, and cosponsor long-term workshop titled "Drama school CAMP!! 2" with Osaka city.
Moreover, each member engages in solo activity and produces collaboration works throughout the year.

The Original Tempo

The Original Tempo was founded in2002 by Worry Kinosita.
With a central focus overseas performance, the re-mix performance over play, music, and dance is getting to be a big hit internationally as the next-gen piece condensed Japanese young culture.
Non-verbal performing using voice, body, water, cardboard, boxes, TV, etc is reputed as the entertainment that repaint usual day into art. Their representative work "Shut up, Play!!" was prized five-star in Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2009 and was invited to Singapore and Taiwan.
