Blank Mooon: Publication project

Sharing local culture and traditional techniques on a global scale and aiming for further deepening

The project "Blank Moon" was launched in 2019 as a result of the collaborative project with The Animation Workshop in Aarhus 2017. In fiscal year 2020, they published a book entitled "Mystic Stone," which focuses on the results of research conducted by the Danish artist duo GhezziAgerskov last year in Otsuki-cho, Kochi Prefecture, on traditional techniques and other aspects of Shikoku area of Japan, as well as on the region and local artisans. In preparation for the book's publication, GhezziAgerskov re-collected materials and curated the book, while project coordinator Ms. Mayuko Masaki consulted with publishers. A video film was also produced to introduce this project. It was introduced as a public event in February 2021 at an art gallery in Italy that has shown interest in this project. It is hoped that this book will help to share knowledge about the cultural values of the region and the richness of its traditions, deepen dialogue between different cultures, and further evolve and deepen the project in 2021.
