Yusuke KIMURA is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in the performing arts. Exploring the history and structure of subjects, media and forms of expression, he presents works with the underlying theme of 'subverting the boundaries between self and other'. He studied contemporary theatre, dance, performance and experimental film with Shogo Ota, Setsuko Yamada, Tadasu Takamine and Takashi Ito at Kyoto University of Art and Design (BA). He also studied media arts and programming with Masahiro Kobayashi and Yasuhiko Ando at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS / MA). He moved to Berlin in 2012 and studied with Rhys Martin, Sophia New and Boyan Manchev at the MA Solo/Dance/Authorship (MA SODA) at the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin (HZT Berlin) and returned to Japan in 2016. From 2021 he has been working on a long-term project 'The Art of Offending'. He also collaborates with three other artists in the performance group 'gallop'. He is the director of the art company '&Co.' and one of the co-directors of 'gallop'.
