Why does a human body apt to be Vertical like a line?  I have been exploring the body as a device, engaged in improvisational dance, after studying painting. “Ta chi ta sa _ is a body-used artwork I have continued since 1995. Letting gravity guide me, I rise slowly from lying to standing with minimal movement — quietly listening to the bodys urge to stand, and carefully asking and waiting how it wishes to rise.  The activities to perform and record in nature and various environments such as in the woods, snowy mountains, sunrise, tides, or even on the painted surface, add I created and presented works in collaboration with artists, and so on. My process of standing up changes depending on the environment, and it is impossible to predict or reproduce it.  Since 2015, I have executed a series in which the act of "Ta chi ta sa" confronts the paintings of Barnett Newman. It is the challenge to see if we can find what Newman called “sublime in the everyday act of "stand" and "standing" that most people do every day?  I would like to bring “Ta chi ta sa_, which deals with universal motifs such as from zero to one, water and fire, time and gravity, to many countries and interact with local people. I believe this work will be a starting point for quiet dialogue with space, landscape, mind, memory, and body. I am really interested in what people rooted in the deep artistic traditions of Europe will feel and discover through this work.
