I work with indigo, a color that has been used by humans since ancient times. Through my work with indigo, I want to reflect on the fact that we humans are similar to color in the way that we are products of nature and that we are life. This can inform us about what we are, how we were born, and how we exist.
As humans have evolved and the earth is currently facing environmental issues, I feel that it is important to look back at our roots and think of the future from this point of view, without forgetting where we came from in the first place.
The world as we know it was actually formed through miniscule phenomena and connections that are beyond human comprehension. It is a world of unknowns, vastness and abundance.
We were formed that way; so was color. I hope that my work can become a door to understanding the possibilities of life, for me and the viewers of my work.
