On 18 December, a Slovenian city that will host the European Capital of Culture 2025 together with Chemnitz, Germany, was announced! The winner of the title is Nova Gorica! Situated on the border with Italy, Nova Gorica has been working with its neighbour Gorizia since the beginning of the bid process. The announcement of the host city took place online and was broadcast live in the square and many people were awaiting the announcement. Immediately after the presentation, a performance was held with the European Anthem “Ode to Joy”.
