Tokyo-based indie pop / alternative / improvisation outfit The Wisely Brothers consists oh Haruko Madachi (Vocal/Guitar),Izumi Wakuri (Bass/Vocal) and Akane Watanabe (Drums/Vocal), longtime friends since their mid-teen years that have firmly established themselves as one of the most exciting acts on the Japanese indie scene. The band formed bask in 2010 when they were students at the same high school and named themselves The Wisely Brothers after a suggestion from Harukos dad. Following in the influential footsteps of such alternative music greats as The Pastels, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, The Velvet Underground and Marine Girls, the trio creates music which is unique, novel and incomparable. They played their first uk tour in 5 spots 2022. Since then, they have been developing a live performance that weaves together improvisation and song, recognizing the potential of improvised music.
