Since the 1970s, I have always tried to express the natural phenomena that surround us, such as wind, light and water, on as large scale as possible. The materials I have used have not always been natural, but have sometimes been factory-made nylon thread, stainless steel or other materials. I have also freely changed my technique in various ways each time. However, I have come to the conclusion that my main focus is on knitting by hand, so I have been working exclusively with knitting for the past few years . Themes have also changed a little, and I am now focusing on femininity, or femininity and water, from nature. This is because women have appeared with water in various legends around the world since ancient times, such as Calypso and Lorelei. And in Shakespeare's Hamlet, Ophelia dies by jumping into the water, for example. As a woman myself, I would like to think about femininity from various angles in both bright side and dark side. And I would be happy to continue to develop my work based on my own sensibility .
