Konnichiwa!! We are Otomic, music workshop artists who use music as a communication tool to create an inclusive environment where everyone can participate. Through performances, we foster new relationships and collaborations beyond age, disabilities, and nationality. Formed in 2012, Otomic has learned from educational services of esteemed orchestras like the London Symphony Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the Manchester Camerata, and Portugal's Casa da Música. We've developed Japan's unique programs and hosted workshops and participatory concerts. We've collaborated with overseas orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. We've also performed at Portugal's The Papagaio music festival, recognized by Europe's The Label EFFE 2024/2025 Remarkable Arts Festival. In 2023, our project "UMI," promoting cultural exchange between Japan and Portugal, received official recognition from the Portuguese Embassy at The Papagaio festival. That year, we were selected by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan for a school touring performance project, reaching 3,000 participants. Currently, our 13-member group has performed around 400 times, with approximately 30,000 participants spanning all ages attending our workshops. Let's MUSIC together!
