I am very interested in "how I expose myself". This is a term used by Japanese dance critic Tatsuro Ishii to describe the dance of Japanese Butoh dancer Min Tanaka. This phrase indicates the shape of the body before dancing or acting. It is one of the points I emphasize in my performances. As mentioned above, although the expression is centered on aerial arts, it is oriented toward the ground we live on and the world further below, rather than toward the Western "heavenly" world. This is a personal experiment that began with the idea of whether dark butoh could be performed in the air. At the same time, I also create theatrical and non-verbal circus pieces based on stories, and plan and produce other genres of temporal art, such as music and art. This is due to the fact that the Japanese art scene itself has genre restrictions, and we are often required in our activities to specify which field the work belongs to: "theater," "dance," "installation," or "exhibition. I have the sense that I am freeing myself from this and consolidating my possessions from a wide range into the form I want to create, aiming to establish a cross-border art work that is filled with various elements.
