NOBU GOTO is a ryuteki flutist.
He was born into a family of a shrine that was founded over 1,300 years ago. He grew up being exposed to ryuteki and shinobue from an early age, and majored in religious studies at university.
He studied Japanese folklore, etiquette “Saho , shrine architecture. He is also a professional and is involved in a wide range of Japanese cultural activities including kimono dressing.
He worked as a Shinto priest at Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine famous for its Senbon Torii (1000 gates) in Kyoto.
He then pursued his music career, starting his study at Tokyo University of the Arts, in the field of traditional Japanese music, Gagaku.
He is the first chair flutist in the gagaku orchestra, and plays as a solo artist at European film festivals.
