Yo Nakamura started dancing in choreographies by Shuji Onodera, Ryohei Kondo and Ko Murobushi in addition to working as their assistant. Since 2010, she has been choreographing her own repertoire. With a dancing body as her medium, she mobilizes all the elements of a performance, including music, words and narratives. She has also developed a workshop program called “Pop Song Switches,” in which the participants are instructed to dance as characters from popular songs, and implements it in various parts of Japan. In addition to working in the field of contemporary dance, she has provided stage direction and choreography for a theater production at New National Theater Tokyo(2013),the opera “NIXON IN CHINA” in Germany(2018) and so on. She also active in the media, having performed in TV commercials and Avril Lavigne’s music video “Hello Kitty”(Choreographer : Shigehiro Ide) She is invited to perform at Sibiu International Theater Festival in Romania, National Theatre Wales’ residency program “Wales Lab” and others. 2013: the Jury Prize and the Sibiu International Theater Festival Prize at Yokohama Dance Collection EX 2013. 2014: the audience award at Tokyo / Soul Duo Dance Fes 2014 2016: the 5th the new face award of Elsur Foundation 早稲田大学在学時コンテンポラリーダンスを始める。2009年より小野寺修二、近藤良平、室伏鴻の振付作品に出演、アシスタントを務め、2010年自身の作品を創り始める。ルーマニア・シビウ国際演劇祭、東アジア文化都市式典（韓国光州・横浜）など国内外で作品を上演。二期会オペラ『ジューリオ・チェーザレ』やロックバンドsumika「MAGIC」MVの振付も担当。2018年ドイツに2ヶ月滞在し振付したマインフランケン劇場製作オペラ『NIXON IN CHINA』（演出：菅尾友）はバイエルン放送が選ぶ年間ベストプロダクション10に選出された。他にダンサーとして郷ひろみ「笑顔にカンパイ！」アブリル・ラヴィーン「Hello Kitty」MVにも出演。〈歌謡曲スイッチ〉と題し、八代亜紀「雨の慕情」など名曲の歌詞に登場する人物になり切って踊るダンスワークショップを各地で展開中。 受賞歴： 2012年ダンスコンテストNEXTREAM21審査員特別賞、第1回セッションベスト賞 2013年横浜ダンスコレクションEX審査員賞・シビウ国際演劇祭賞 2014年トーキョー×ソウルデュオダンスフェスティバル人氣賞 2016年第5回エルスール財団コンテンポラリーダンス部門新人賞
