Dance Base Yokohama is a dancehouse that designs and organizes projects that specifically aim to improve the Japanese professional dance environment and support emerging creatives. While we offer residencies for artists to work on their creative projects, we aim to diversify our approach by hosting spaces for both local artists and residents through our workshops, experimental tryout performances, and dance archive projects. As we hope for Dance Base Yokohama to be a platform/magnetic field where people can casually get together, we are calling this place DaBY.
