My name is Senju Takeda and I'm a professional puppeteer and scenographer.
I specialize in performing traditional Japanese marionettes in the style of the Takeda Ningyō-za (Takeda Marionette Theatre).
I have received my professional name from my teacher Sennosuke Takeda in 2011.
In January 2019 I've graduated with Bachelor's Degree in Scenography for Puppet Theatre from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts "Krastyo Sarafov" in Sofia, Bulgaria in the class of Maya Petrova.
I have an interest in creating puppet animations and have started to expand my knowledge in this direction.

This is Takeda Puppet Theatre's version of the Dance of Sanbaso. This celebratory dance marks the beginning of a marionette's performance.
This is a photo of the traditional marionette version of Yaoya Ohichi, a girl who in the name of love rings the fire bell so that the gates of the city will open and she can reunite with her lover again.
This photo is of Takeda Senju's marionette creation based on the Takeda Kinosuke and Sennosuke's designs of the puppet for Hashi Benkei. It's based on a traditional Noh play from 15th century about a warrior monk that showed how powerful he was in battle, proudly presenting his opponents' weapons he took on his back.
