Shion Yokoo expresses herself and her surroundings in (performing) arts humanely and honestly, exploring theatricality and anti-theatricality in both theoretical and practical terms. Originally from Japan and currently residing in Estonia, she obtained her BA in dance from Viljandi Culture Academy and MA in semiotics from University of Tartu. She continues her research at Tallinn University (PhD). Her recent works include a solo production titled “Anti-Theatricalitys Appearances in the Estonian Contemporary Performing Arts, an installation “Please Water when I am not Here for festival “1000 Kurge, and a performative installation “Peal kiri peal with Keisuke Sugawara as a part of the main programme of Tartu 2024.
